Materials
Zirconia — the foundation of modern prosthetics. Alpine Dent Lab prioritizes materials that deliver a balance of strength, biocompatibility, and lifelike aesthetics. Our material portfolio emphasizes certified zirconium oxide variants alongside complementary materials for layered or provisional work.
Mechanical performance is a primary criterion. We use high-strength zirconia grades for bridges and bruxism cases, and high-translucency, multi-layer zirconia for anterior restorations where esthetics are paramount. Each batch is traceable and processed following manufacturer sintering curves to achieve predictable mechanical properties and shade stability.
Biocompatibility and tissue response are equally important. Zirconia is inert, non-allergenic, and well suited for patients with metal sensitivities. Its metal-free composition removes the risk of gingival discoloration associated with substructure metals and supports modern implant workflows that favor ceramic components.
Aesthetics are controlled through material selection and finishing technique. We match translucency and chroma with shade-mapping tools, apply custom staining and glazing when needed, and use selective cut-back and layering protocols for cases that require layered porcelain over a zirconia substructure. Precision fit is achieved through CAD/CAM margin control and occlusal refinement, minimizing chairside adjustments and preserving tooth structure.
Additional materials and services include temporary and provisional materials, custom hybrid abutment solutions, and screw-retained vs. cemented workflow consultations to ensure each case uses the optimal material strategy for function and longevity.
